Germany in the autumn of 1923. The country is broke, inflation is skyrocketing. People are starving and suffering from the consequences of the First World War, political conditions are unstable: the breeding ground for Hitler's National Socialist movement. During this time, 24-year-old Paula Schlier sneaks undercover into the editorial office of the “Völkische Beobachter”, the newspaper of the NSDAP – and finds herself in the middle of a coup d’état.
